The Olivet Discourse

There were three great discourses in the ministry of Jesus:

1. The Sermon on the Mount - where Jesus speaks from His role as a Profit.

2. The Upper Room Discourse - where Jesus speaks from His role as a Priest.

3. The Olivet Discourse - where Jesus speaks from His role as King, coming to defeat His

enemies and set up His throne. That is the text that is before us today.

This is the definitive discourse directly from the mouth of our Lord regarding His second

coming. If you remember, back in Luke 17, He gave us a Bird’s Eye View of the End Times. In

Luke 21, He zooms in and reveals more details regarding this final generation
